The Flower Recipe -book

I know this book was published already in 2013 but I got my piece just a few days ago. I’ve been wanting it for a long time, but somehow I just forgot it. But now it’s here: The Flower Recipe Book by Alethea Harampolis and Jill Rizzo from Studio Choo. Even before I opened my own little flower shop Kasvihuone I’ve been studying and really getting into more natural way and style of treating flowers in arrangements and bouquets. And this book is all about it. I really love the more technical pages where they show what do you need and how to do it. And the flower arrangement recipes are like candy pages: so beautiful and you just want to jump into the picture to enjoy the flowers even more. For the snail haters

It’s a known fact: the snails are slowly but firmly taking over our gardens. Especially here in Finland there are huge problems with copse snails (Arianta arbustorum) and Spanish slugs (Arion vulgaris). They eat the plants that you have taken care of for a long time and don’t leave you anything. One of the most asked questions in my work is “What should I do with the snails?”. I thought I should share a few tricks here in my blog, too. Because in the recent months I’ve been studying this subject a bit just to give the customers more specific answers to their problem. First of all, I have to say that there are many different products on the market at the moment that promise to banish the snails from your garden. There’s also some old school tricks that some people swear upon. Some of them work, some of them don’t and I’m not going to go into details.
